MHS EMPLOYEES DONATE TO FOUNDATION FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FUND.
Employees of Memorial Health System (MHS) wore blue jeans for another “Jeans Day” fundraiser on Fridays throughout the month of June. Employees make a donation, of at least $5, and are allowed to wear blue jeans at work. A total donation of $1,016 was presented to the Memorial Health Foundation for the GoAbilene General Public Transportation Fund to assist patients in getting to healthcare appointments. OCCK Transportation provides the general public, including passengers with disabilities and seniors, with transportation services within the city limits of Abilene. The MHS Volunteer Corps (MHSVC) is also a regular contributor to the fund. A percentage of the revenue generated from the vending machines, overseen by the MHSVC, at Memorial Hospital goes into the fund. The day was organized by the MHS Employer of Choice (EOC) committee.
