Abilene Airport Receives Funds

The Abilene Municipal Airport is among 58 projects at 37 airports selected to receive $14.3 million through the Kansas Airport Improvement Program. The Abilene Municipal Airport will receive $376,113. $32,571 to replace a rotating beacon. $110,061 to replace Automated Weather Observation System and $233,481 to replace a T-hangar. Local matching funds are required, though the amount varies depending on the project.  The Herington Regional Airport will   receive a $170,000 state match to an unfunded local share of runway edge lighting, precision approach path indicator, and runway end identifier lights.
