Courthouse Open House

Welcome to your Dickinson County Courthouse

Approximately 100 visitors ventured out on a sweltering Saturday, June 11 to attend the open house for the newly-renovated Dickinson County Courthouse. Greeting visitors at the secure entryway were, from left, Commissioner Ron Roller, Asst. County Administrator/Budget Director Janelle Dockendorf and County Administrator Brad Homman. After being closed for 14 months due to demolition, renovation and construction, the courthouse reopened to the public in stages in March and April 2022 as offices returned from their temporary locations. In recent weeks, contractors have been busy working on the “punch list,” working to finish up the project. A long process, the initial planning work for a new jail, sheriff’s office and the courthouse renovation began in 2013. An open house for the new jail/sheriff’s department addition was held in August 2021.
