State Fish Record

A new state record fish is officially in the books. In February, angler Tami Sanderson from Goodland caught a record yellow perch at a farm pond in Sherman County, according to the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. The yellow perch weighed in at 1.46 pounds and was 13.66 inches long. The previous state record was set in 2000 – the perch, caught in Coffey County, was 1.06 pounds and 14 inches long.
